“For the sake of justice\u2026 and history”: a report by the families of the Beirut port explosion victims and the people affected by it, prepared under the guidance of the Foundation for Human and Humanitarian Rights \u2013 Lebanon, documenting what they lived through from 4 August 2020 to early 2022.<\/p>\n
It records how the official security services handled the disaster in its first days, how officials dealt with the families of victims and the injured, how the investigation was handled and blocked by dozens of lawsuits, and how the families responded: sit-ins, protests, and letters to the United Nations, the Human Rights Council in Geneva and the International Criminal Court. Its annexes reproduce the families’ statements and letters.<\/p>\n
