Majida Saade Kassab

On August 4, 2020, Majida was with her sick mother at Saint George University Hospital. She was standing by the window when warehouse number 12 exploded, and she was hit by the glass and severely injured her head. He husband and daughter rushed to the hospital and walked up the stairs to find out that she had passed away.

Marie Farhat

On August 4, 2020, 80-year-old Marie was a patient at Saint George University Hospital, which was severely damaged in the blast. Her room’s ceiling fell over her head and killed her instantly.

Malak Bazaza

On August 4, 2020, Malak, a mother of two, was with her husband and other family members, including her mother, brother, and sister, at Loris restaurant in Mar Mikhayel. When the explosion happened, she was pushed from her seat; Malak was found dead the next day.

Lisa Hagop Kawoukjian

On August 4, 2020, Lisa was home with her family in Rmeil. They heard fireworks sounds coming from the port and her husband and son went to the roof to see what happened. When they heard the first explosion they tried to hide, but the second explosion pushed them all off the ground and Lisa sustained a severe head injury and started bleeding from her nose. She was evacuated to the hospital, but she unfortunately passed away.

Mehdi Hassan Roni

Just like many other Bangladeshi, Mehdi moved to Lebanon for work to improve his family’s social and economic conditions. He worked as a bagger at Spinneys, and as he was putting clients’ groceries in shopping bags, warehouse number 12 at the port of Beirut exploded and a huge glass panel was broken over his head, killing him instantly. His dead body was transferred to Bangladesh where he was buried.

Mahmoud Hussein Khaled

Mahmoud started his own company from scratch. On August 4, 2020, he asked his staff to leave early, and he stayed behind to prepare a couple of invoices in his office facing the port of Beirut. When the explosion happened, Mahmoud was hurt and he was evacuated to the hospital. Unfortunately, he passed away shortly after.
