Georges was a member of the Lebanese army; he was appointed as secretary, warehouse keeper, and workers’ supervisor at the port of Beirut. On August 4, 2020, when he heard the sound of fireworks, he went to see what was happening, and to help firefighters open the door to warehouse number 12. When the explosion happened, they were all pushed away by the intensity of the blast. Georges sustained severe head and body injuries and lost his life.
