On August 4, 2020, Hayat was home with her family and they were all injured in the blast. They were evacuated to different hospitals and Hayat was transferred to Makassed Hospital to fight for her life, but her heart stopped, and she passed away. Her daughter recalls that her mother was the same age she is now when she lost her own mother.
