On the morning of August 4, Jad completed hospital and legal paperwork for his baby. He then went home to prepare his son’s crib, bought some food, and went back to the hospital. He sat down next to his beloved Rita, and told her: “Thank you for the beautiful family you gave me.” Jad and Rita were a beautiful couple, with beautiful children. and a happy life. He dreamed of giving his children the best life possible, he wanted them to be happy and secure, despite the country’s consecutive crises.
Jad loved Lebanon, he hoped things would change. Immigration crossed his mind only once, last February, but he gave up on the idea, because he knew he would never be able to leave his larger family. He was a loving son, generous, and sensitive to everyone’s feelings. Jad was very kind, to the extent he could never argue with anyone, or tolerate to see someone sad.
Family was Jad’s chief priority, it was his pride. Jad told Rita how much he loves her, and how much he loves their little family. He was never shy to express his feelings. He was very emotional… He didn’t even finish his sentence when he felt the earth shaking under them. He went to the window and said: “The port is under attack, there’s a lot of smoke.” His life ended right there and then, he entered in a coma, and passed away eight days later.
