Dolly Atallah is a Lebanese visually challenged woman born in 1978; she works in the kitchen of the Lebanese Union for People with Physical Disabilities (LUPD). She already suffered from low vision (reaching as low as 10% in her left eye and 5% in her right eye). Her left eye was injured in the blast,
Lamia Tarchichi
Lamia already suffered from vision problems before the explosion, but the blast aggravated her situation causing dry eyes for which she has to permanently use prescription eye drops. Today, Lamia is unemployed due to her condition.
Mariam Hijazi
On August 4, 2020, Mariam was visiting her sister in Zokak El-Blat when the explosion happened causing her to lose her eyesight. She recalls that she felt her eye falling out, and because of the toxic fumes that preceded and followed the blast, her left eye was affected, impacting her vision.
